“Oh, Bondage: Up Yours, X-Ray Spex“
Costume Designer - Ines Ortner
Punk, Anti-Fashion and /DIY
Ines Orter, an artist, musician and maker, provides a deep overlook into the Punk scene of 1976-1990: an expression of rebellion against authority through fashion,–making a lasting influence on contemporary culture.
Ines, seen in the accompanying photo, embraced the movement and her creations tell the story of the Punk scene as a fight against consumerism, an enthusiasm for DIY a war with society, popular music and fashion. She sees dress as satire, a form of turbulent resistance, and a break for freedom.
This is a unique opportunity to see up close the original pieces preserved by Ines, before their acquisition by the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Germany.
