A Living Culture: The Woven Arts of Peru

Art and Textiles Conservator Sarah Confer charts a colourful journey through the indigenous textiles of Peru.

Her presentation outlines the centuries-old traditions of woven fabrics, with special emphasis on how the environment, communal identity and language are embodied in the art of fabric making.

Sarah Confer has extensive firsthand experience working with village communities in Peru, and her presentation evokes the varied colours, textures and patterns of a nation.
As a bonus, a select sample sale of Peruvian textiles will for sale during the event.
